Rumpke offers curbside collection of bagged leaves and other yard waste every other week on the opposite week from recycling collection. Loose leaves raked to the curb will not be collected, and can lead to clogged storm drains and flooded streets. Please place yard waste in compostable paper bags or containers clearly marked as yard waste. Loose shrubbery and logs no larger than 4 inches in diameter and no longer than 4 feet. A bundle must be tied in lengths no larger than 4 feet long and 2 feet wide. Bundles should not exceed 50 pounds.

Residents may also drop off yard waste at participating Ohio Mulch locations free of charge. Accepted materials include leaves, grass clippings, shrubs, weeds, brush and shrubbery, and twigs and small branches.

Additionally, the Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio (SWACO) operates a Recycling Convenience Center, which serves as a one-stop destination to recycle a wide-range of materials including basic recyclable items, some household hazardous waste, fall leaves and pumpkins, etc. Visit SWACO's website for more information >

While curbside collection is a convenient option, have you considered "leafing" it on your lawn? Use your lawnmower to help the leaves break down faster. These leaf shreds will then work their way through the grass and decompose into the top layer of soil, acting as a natural fertilizer and weed control agent. Leaving or adding leaves to landscaping beds will provide insulation for perennials and bulbs and provide habitat for birds, caterpillars and other small wildlife. By spring, the decomposing leaves will help to fertilize the plants below.
